“Do your practice, all is coming” – Sri K Pattabhi Jois
Ashtanga yoga is the tradition of the late Sri K Pattabhi Jois, who first brought this beautiful and invigorating style of yoga to the United States during a four-month stay in Encinitas, CA in 1975. His tradition lives on through his family and devout followers with an amazing workshop at new the Jois Yoga studio in Encinitas this April. Pattabhi Jois’s grandson, Sharath accompanied by Saraswathi, will lead a sunrise primary series of Ashtanga Yoga April 17-22, 25-29 and an intermediate series April 25-28. Click here for more workshop details.
Sharath learned his first asana at the age of seven, embarked on his formal yoga study at the age of 19 and is Pattabhi Jois’s only student who has studied and continues to practice the complete six series of the Ashtanga yoga system. He presently resides in Mysore, India where he serves as the Director at the K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute.
I am beyond excited for this rare opportunity to deepen my practice through the guidance of Sharath at the Jois Yoga studio workshop next month. I hope to see some of my fellow San Diego yoga peeps there!
Peace. Love. Namaste.
